Precision redefined – with the ACAT from Lessmüller Lasertechnik // product video
Many manufacturers who use galvo scanners in their production are familiar with the problem:
After prolonged continuous operation or at permanently high operating temperatures, the laser focus begins to drift on the material surface.
👉 The consequences:
- Unstable weld seams
- Insufficient connections
- Loss of quality
- Increased scrap
- And in the worst case: Production stops
Although many scanner manufacturers offer automatic drift compensation or TCP calibration, things become complex as soon as an OCT system is also used for process monitoring: temperature drift, mechanical tolerances or different beam paths can result in position deviations between the laser and OCT beam. Although internal software algorithms help with alignment, they reach their limits – especially with dirty or thermally distorted lenses.
🔧 The solution: ACAT – Automated Calibration Alignment Tool from Lessmüller
Our physical calibration unit has been specially developed to ensure precise, automatic and reproducible alignment between the processing and measuring beam – regardless of thermal or optical influences.
💡 And best of all, the ACAT can be flexibly integrated into your production line – manually or fully automated. This means it adapts perfectly to your existing system structure.
